Tattoo aftercare FAQ
Why give clients a written aftercare sheet?
Clients forget verbal instructions as soon as they leave the studio. A sheet they keep at home reduces aftercare mistakes, infections and touch-ups, and many health authorities expect artists to provide aftercare information.
How long should a tattoo dressing stay on?
It depends on the dressing: a few hours for cling film or a pad, several days for a second-skin film. Enter the time you recommend in the tool.
How long does a tattoo take to heal?
The surface of the skin usually heals in 2 to 4 weeks, but deeper layers take longer. Clients should avoid the sun, baths and swimming pools throughout the healing period.
When should a client see a doctor after a tattoo?
If redness spreads, heat or pain increases after 48 hours, or there is pus, fever or a significant allergic reaction.
Does it work for piercings and permanent makeup?
Yes. Pick the type of procedure: the steps, precautions and warning signs adapt to tattooing, permanent makeup or piercing.
